Tessa Gray-Burnett
With over 15 years of experience helping clients move, train, and compete with purpose, Tessa blends her background in kinesiology with deep practical knowledge in both strength and track & field coaching to create programs that build speed, resilience, and athletic longevity.
A former competitive track athlete herself, Tessa is Run, Jump, Throw certified and holds a Bachelor of Kinesiology with a focus on pedagogy from the University of Calgary. Her coaching style is calm, attentive, and adaptive - focused on progress without unnecessary pressure. She’s spent years supporting clients across the performance and rehab spectrum, from new runners and returning athletes to those recovering from injury or navigating complex movement issues.
In her one-on-one and group sessions, Tessa emphasizes technical skill, smart progression, and whole-person development. Leah Kaluta
With over two decades of experience in fitness, education, and coaching, Leah Kaluta is a Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist and strength and conditioning coach dedicated to helping people move better, feel stronger, and live healthier lives. She is currently completing her second Masters (thesis based) after also achieving a Masters of Kinesiology at the University of Calgary. Her research explores the impact of heavy strength training in post-menopausal women - a reflection of her passion for evidence-based approaches to long-term health and performance.
Leah’s career spans coaching varsity athletes, teaching in personal training diploma programs, and developing inclusive, individualized training plans for clients of all backgrounds. She has held teaching and coaching roles at Mount Royal University, University of Calgary, Elevated Learning Academy, and of course, Vital Performance Care.

Tara McNeil
With over 25 years in applied sport science, Tara McNeil is a trusted performance advisor known for her work in sustainable athletic development and career longevity. Her expertise spans elite and amateur levels - from the NHL to Olympic sliding sports - where she has designed athlete development frameworks, mentored coaches, and advised national and professional teams.
Tara holds a Master of Kinesiology in Exercise Physiology from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology from Dalhousie University. She brings additional specialization as a Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) Specialist, Cardiac Rehab Specialist, Applied Sport Physiologist, and Athlete Development Specialist.
As the founder of Red Horse Performance Consulting and a long-time contributor to organizations like Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton, Tara blends evidence-based practice with field-tested insight to help athletes perform at their peak.. and stay there longer.

Carla Robbins
Carla Robbins is an exercise physiologist and co-founder of Vital Performance Care. She holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s of Kinesiology from the University of Calgary and has been coaching since 2012, when she launched Vital Strength and Physiology. In 2025, she led its evolution into Vital Performance Care through a merger with Coalition Performance Care.
Carla works with a wide range of clients—from Olympians and national team athletes to high-performing professionals and individuals navigating long-standing injuries. Her approach combines sport science, real-world coaching, and a deep commitment to individualized care.
Known for her sharp eye for movement, data-informed programming, and dedication to mentorship, Carla leads a team that prioritizes clarity, curiosity, and long-term development—for both clients and coaches.

Nicholas Simpson
Nicholas Simpson brings over a decade of experience coaching high-performance athletes having served as Head Strength Coach for Canadian speed skaters at the 2014 and 2018 Olympics, alongside a decade of work with international-calibre swimmers. He’s guided multiple medal-winning athletes and teams on the international stage.
Since those projects he’s been diving into the private sector for 5+ years, delivering individualized strength, rehab, and training solutions to all levels.
His passion lies in an integrative approach - blending strength, conditioning, recovery, biomechanics, and psychology to push clients beyond their limits. Nick thrives on working with driven individuals, from World Cup athletes in skeleton, biathlon, and karate to dedicated competitors like World Police Games participants. He’s all about seeing the bigger picture, helping clients optimize their lifestyles and performance while breaking down barriers with innovative, outside-the-box strategies.
